Tonight, Meander revisits a character who’s become one of my favorites – The Sayer. As some of you already know, I sometimes tell stories, making them up as I go along, while I play my Live Ambient Rants. A couple of them have been cleaned up and published, and I have a couple more on the way. I don’t know what it is about the summertime, but this is when I return to the tales of the dusty old wolf, walking the highways and byways of a strange and fantastic world with his pistol at his side and his cigar-box dulcimer in his hand.
In our first hour, I’ll crank the clock all the way back to June 8, 2021, when the Sayer made his first appearance. The story is called The Reason Why, and it gained a lot of positive attention. In our second hour, I’ll play two shorter stories – really two parts of a longer one that has yet to be finished – that I performed at the Second Life 20th Birthday celebration on June 29 of this year. Those last two stories, The Tale Of The Void Sharks and The Sayer And His Lady Love, are very raw and messy, but I think you’ll enjoy them. Some fans might spot oblique references to other tales, resurfacing here, but you don’t need to be a huge fan to appreciate what I’m doing here. At least I hope so.
