On tonight’s Meander, I have been given the privilege of premiering two new albums by artists in the RadioSpiral family.

In the first hour, we will premiere the new album by Gypsy Witch (Diana Smethurst) entitled Shades of Nirvana. Inspired by a beautiful resin painting by artist (and friend of the station!) Nirvana Farhadi, this album steps far away from Diana’s usual comfort zone of upbeat, rhythm-oriented ambient music, and into the realm of drifting atmospherics and slowly evolving soundscapes. I consider it her best and freshest work yet, and I think her many fans will agree with me… and during the show, we will announce when and where it will be released for sale.

In the second hour (after a Live Ambient Rant), we will play the newest album from Brother Saturn (Drew Miller), pieces of eight. These eight shorter tracks carry a heavy emphasis on heavily processed guitar, and strike a variety of different moods. Another tremendous release from this prolific young artist!

Both albums are simply wonderful, each in its way, and well worth catching if you possibly can. The show starts at 9/8/7/6 PM E/C/M/PST; join us in Slack or Second Life, or just listen in… but don’t miss it!
