Berlin School, that overdone but much-adored sub-sub-subset of electronic music that’s perhaps the ultimate in “I can’t describe it but I know it when I hear it”, is celebrated all through July on Meander. Since many of these albums are best enjoyed in larger chunks than our robot Spud is prepared to deliver, Mr. Spiral is taking up the cause.
First up we have my respected colleague Maurice Gallagher aka grüm~pé, Scotland’s answer to Peter Baumann (assuming Peter Baumann ever required a rejoinder from Scotland?). Our first hour will have vast slabs of yummy Berliniana from his album The Tyranny Of Distance. In the second hour, who else but America’s flag planted firmly on the Alexanderplatz: Dweller At The Threshold, featuring our dear friends Dave Fulton and John DuVal (plus some guy named “Elias”, I think?) on the album Ouroborus.
Please join us in Slack chat, Second Life, or just listen in. 8/7/6/5 PM E/C/M/PDT is the time, and https://radiospiral.net is the place.
