Last week I didn’t get an announcement out in time anywhere but Facebook. Here’s hoping folks get this one…

The Silent Ballet is a collection of compilation albums from the Lost Children netlabel, released a couple of times a year in the late 2000s and early 2010s. They are incredibly eclectic and feature everything from famous artists to new talents, all of whom have donated tracks to create extraordinary assemblages of varied and fascinating music.

There’s a lot of excellent material here, but a lot of it is not really RadioSpiral-friendly material: anything from prog-punk to harsh noise to shoegaze… lots and lots of shoegaze. In winnowing down the track lists from the 16 volumes, I’ve gotten enough to fill three shows. Last week it was Volumes 1-6; this week it will be Volumes 7-11, with the remnant next week. Come along and explore these remarkable collections with me!

Oh yes, for those of you who are mainly interested in the live improv stuff, I haven’t forgotten you all. While my current work schedule isn’t being very friendly to my hour-long pieces, I do plan to do a Live Ambient slantRant of indeterminate length and content at the top of the second hour.

Please join me at 9/8/7/6 PM in Slack chat, in Second Life, or just listen in!
