It was about 10 years ago that I started playing the Ephemera series, originally on Electro-Music.com, but after a long hiatus (about 5 years) I picked the series back up on RadioSpiral. It’s still, to me, quite a challenge to go for two hours more or less off the cuff. That’s even with my studio, although sometimes I think I’d be happy just playing piano for 2 hours.
Patterns, repeating series of events, or a visual series, or even moods, are prevalent more than chaos. It can be argued by some that there really isn’t any chaos, there’s just a lack of readily discernable pattern.
Anyway, music, obviously, is made of patterns, at least mine is. So this is sort of an acknowledgement of that. I could talk about the weather instead, but it’s in a fairly consistent pattern too.
As is typical for a 2 hour show, much (or almost all) of the studio will be in use, depending on where in the programme I am. I’ve got some patterns set up.
As usual it’s 2 hours of more or less improvised music, performed solo.
The show starts at 3PM PST/6PM/EST/23:00 GMT/00:00 WET

If you’ve missed shows or want to explore some of the past Ephemera performances, you can find them at https://aegura.harriman4.com/ephemera.php which has the past few years of them. Beware, they’re all 2 hours long so there’s a lot to listen to (maybe 120 hours or so).
Thanks for supporting RadioSpiral. We all appreciate it so much.
