Taking a break from triphop and other things, for a somewhat quieter Friday. Entertaining music from the La Bel Netlabel, four EPs to ease into the beginning of winter, or the end of Autumn, since we seem to be there already.
Medo’s Little Trap is a project created in 2010 by Italian composer Domenico Mannelli. The idea is to combine electronica, classical, pop, and rock. Playing tonight is the EP “Birds on the Snow”.
Jan Grünfield appropriately enough brings us “Music for Plants”, a “pretty ambient” album made of “good soil, a suntrap, occasionally rain and fresh air”. It is live improvisation with a guitar and looper. Anna Maria and her toy orchestra brings more to the recordings and field recordings too.
Plusplus bring “Evils” to tonight’s playlist. “Evils” is like spring that waves from the window, like waking up without washing your face, like riding a bike along the paths of a solitary countryside. Dreamy english folk of the third millenium.
Go Ask Alice bring “Perfection is Terrible”, the first work of theirs. Eight instrumental tracks composed between 2012 and 2013, the inspiration is the first verse of Sylvia Plath’s poem “The Munich Mannequins”. Dark, but not depressing.
The show starts at 3PM PST/6PM EST/23:00 GMT/00:00 WET
