Simon Slator is an electronic musician from Tamworth, UK, who describes himself as a “Progressive Ambient/Electronic musician who’s had more comebacks than the 8:27 train service to Nuneaton.” Since beginning his career with pastoral/meditative ambient music in 2003, he’s progressed through cinematic progressive ambient to a more “kosmiche” sound, and tonight will be the first time we feature his amazing music.
On tonight’s Meander, we’ll poke around the large and eclectic Slator catalog, including everything from the rich, dreamy sound textures of Dark Side of the Earth to the short, percussive, disturbing vignettes of his recent release The Company. If time permits, there will also be a short Live Ambient Rant at the top of the second hour.
Come join the conversation in our Discord, visit us in Second Life, or just listen in, to discover the beautiful music of this way-too-little-known artist. We start at 6 PM SLT / PST – see you then!
