“A stranger comes to town.”
That’s one of the most fundamental tropes of fiction writing, and tonight the Meander audience will hear a brand-new story about a stranger they’ve met before…
In the virtual world of Second Life, the 14th annual SL Sci-Fi Con is taking place. In lieu of tips, performers and show hosts are asking attendees to make donations to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, a charity for which SL has raised millions of dollars over the years. Tonight, in the snowy Steampunk village of Auxentios Barracks, the RadioSpiral Theatre welcomes Spiral Sands, electronic musician and teller of tales.
Tonight, Spiral will play for at least one hour, but will be aiming for two. The entire show will be improvised electronica, ranging from deep and droning atmospherics to nicely danceable rhythms, and if the mood is right, he will spontaneously make up and tell a story to go along with the music he’s creating. While we can never be quite sure which of his many characters will make an appearance, the best odds tonight are on the mangy and unkempt wanderer through a world changed by forces beyond imagining… the traveling jester, storyteller, judge, jury, and executioner known only as The Sayer.
Come join the conversation in our Discord, visit us in Second Life, or just listen in, and see where the winds of adventure will take us. We start at 6 PM SLT / PST – see you then, and dress for Steampunk, whether Victorian dignified or Wild West shaggy!
