Tonight, Saturday November 28 at 8/7/6/5 PM E/C/M/PST, RadioSpiral’s eponymous Mr. Spiral (Mike Metlay) will be playing a concert for Nick’s Virtual Garage – an ongoing series of live electronic music concerts shown on a variety of streaming platforms. The series features musicians from around the world, and is tremendously eclectic – you never know what the next show will be like.

Even so, we can pretty much guarantee that no one outside RadioSpiral has any idea of what they’re in for this time.

Everyone watching these concerts expects, well, something to watch – but Mike refuses to shoot video for music performances in his (tiny, cramped, and really quite ugly) basement studio. This has led to a novel workaround: the video to accompany the concert will be streamed from the virtual world of Second Life, where Gypsy Witch (Diana Smethurst) will film from within a  virtual concert hall she has created specifically for the occasion. For folks who have never seen Second Life before and are curious about it, this will provide a nice glimpse into a tiny part of what Second Life can do  – and, of course, our regular Second Life listeners are encouraged to show up “in person” and provide an audience for the virtual show!

The audio will also be streamed live on RadioSpiral, and Slack chat will be open as usual (although neither Mike nor Diana will be able to participate, as they’re both going to be kinda busy). The video will be streamed on several video platforms – the two links we know for certain are https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9GQwobcswCfWo58fSSn14A for YouTube Live and https://www.twitch.tv/nicks_virtual_garage_2020 for Twitch (the latter is where most of the Nick’s Garage regulars hang out).

We hope to see you there!
