Notes from the Studio
It has been a while, and it’s a long story about “the stuff in the States”. When I left for the UK, way back in 1998, it was not expected to be a permanent thing. so we put half the house in storage. Along the way, it survived a hurricane, got lost, got found, and we first saw it again in 2012, but still couldn’t manage to get it reunited with us. It all showed up (at our storage space in the UK) yesterday, and now the fun part of figuring out what’s actually worth keeping starts. We already threw out the box of nappies that the movers had packed with bathroom cleaning stuff, 24 years ago.Â
But it does mean that the collection of instruments which were saved in storage are close, if not already reunited. The first to come home was the Mono-Poly, now running, albeit with a voltage converter, in the studio. It’s going to need work, but it’s not in that bad shape, having been stored in good packing and kept dry and warm for so many years.
I’ve done some work on vignettes, much new, some old. The challenge, and my creativity, is coming back, and I’m starting to get to the point there’s so much in the studio I don’t actually have to use it all (although I almost did use it all today).Â
As usual, I will be virtually performing in Second Life in the Orlov region (I’m not ready for Ambient 101 yet), and in Opensim in the Dome, now in the Sharing is Caring Family grid. You don’t have to go to either, but if you’re inworld, feel free to stop in. Otherwise, simply tune in to radiospiral.net and listen in, all ears are appreciated. Â
And we have our Discord chat, if you want to hang out there, I think it’s turned out much better to use Discord, it certainly works better for me.Â
Thanks for your continued support. We at RadioSpiral appreciate all of your listening time, and wish you a happy weekend.
