On a Main Stage in SL

Through the good graces of Mr. Spiral himself, I am booked into a slot on the main stage at the Sci-Fi Con in SL. A good opportunity to maybe get more people to hear what I do.

If you’re familiar with the format of an Ephemera, you’ll know it’s kind of a series of short stories in music, of flexible format; in short, I’m more or less making up a lot of it as I go along, with some sections of prepared backing tracks and some piano-based vignettes which may or may not be improvised, but if not, they are my compositions anyway.

The studio has been undergoing continuous changes since the first lockdown, now 7 months ago, and continues to change. I managed to finish filling the “little” Euro case, and it is capable of contributing more significantly (and it will). Now that this project is finished for now, some judicious work on the frac rack underneath it is resuming.

So tonight’s Ephemera sums up my current mood. It’s not really a bad mood, despite the world’s events (and local, as we’ve gone to Tier 2 containment controls).

If you want to see me playing in RL, I will be broadcasting this show on twitch.tv as well as playing on the main stage at the Sci-Fi Con in SL and audio via RadioSpiral’s live stream. https://twitch.tv/edisonrex4 for the video feed, each broadcast is an improvement, hopefully this one will be as well. If you just want to listen in the background, that’s ok too..

2 Hours of Live, unedited improvisation and performance

The show starts at 3PM PDT/6PM/EDT/23:00 BST/00:00 WST

To listen, just click the play arrow on our widget at  http://radiospiral.net  or you can tune your media player (or browser) in to https://radiospiral.net/stream.mp3 (or check our site for more advanced instructions).

Please, if you’d like, meet us in the Radiospiral Slack chat room or in Second Life at the Orlov region (we can pick up a landmark to the Sci-Fi Con), http://radiospiral.life

You can join chat by going to http://mrspiral.slack.com and registering for our feature-rich Slack chat room. You’ll usually find our show host in chat too, as well as some of our wonderful collection of musicians.

If you’ve missed shows or want to explore some of the past Ephemera performances, you can find them at https://aegura.harriman4.com/ephemera.php which has the past few years of them. Beware, they’re all 2 hours long so there’s a lot to listen to (maybe 200 hours or so).
